# Linkek és ellenőrzési hibák

Rövid linkek és kattintásmérés, valamint a leggyakoribb ellenőrzési hibák, amiken a mentés elakad.

## Short links

If the post text contains a link, we offer to shorten it. We remember your choice. You can also choose in settings whether to always shorten links, never shorten them, or ask every time.

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Always shorten | Replaces every link without asking. |
| Never | The original links stay. |
| Ask | Asks when you save if it finds a link in the text. |

## Click tracking

We track clicks through the short link and show them separately in the post's statistics. This is the only figure we track. Everything else comes from the platform's own analytics. Read more on the [Analytics](https://posty.hu/en/docs/analytics) page.

No click data without link shortening

We can't track clicks on the original link because it doesn't go through Posty. That isn't a bug. It's the trade-off of shortening: passing through Posty is what makes click tracking possible.

## Validation errors

Saving is blocked if a required field is missing for any selected channel. The error message tells you which channel. Here's what it means:

| What you see | Why | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The text is too long for this channel | The text exceeds the platform's character limit. The applicable limit is based on the connected account. | Shorten it or add channel-specific text. |
| This channel requires media | Instagram and TikTok posts must include media. | Add an image or video. |
| Missing required setting | The platform requires specific details: a title and visibility for YouTube, a board for Pinterest, a channel for Discord or Slack, or visibility for TikTok. | Open the channel settings in the editor and complete the missing fields. |
| The channel is not available | The channel is disconnected or disabled. | See the [Managing channels](https://posty.hu/en/docs/channels/manage) page. |
| Invalid URL | A settings field requires a URL, but the value you entered isn't one. | Enter the full URL, including the https prefix. |

## What's still missing

You can fetch the same list programmatically before scheduling a post:

`GET /public/v1/posts/:id/missing` tells you what's still missing before the post can be published. See the [What's missing from the post](https://posty.hu/en/docs/api/endpoints/hianyzo-tartalom) endpoint for details, or use the `posty posts:missing` command from the command line.
