The four channel states

In the calendar, every state that isn't working looks the same: nothing goes out. What you need to do is different.

StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
ActiveThe channel is live, scheduled posts go out.Nothing.
DisconnectedThe platform revoked or expired access: a password change, a platform security step, or the app was removed in the platform settings.Reconnect it on the same platform. Posts and statistics remain.
Refresh neededToken renewal got stuck halfway. The channel isn't offline, but you have to finish connecting it by hand.Open the channel menu and run the connection again.
DisabledEither you turned it off, or it ended up outside your plan limit, for example after switching to a smaller plan.Turn it back on from the channel menu, or free up space in the limit.

Every channel row has a three-dot menu at the end. Here's what it contains:

  • Additional settings: platform-specific switches, for example whether the post should get an automatic first comment.
  • Move or add to group: assign the channel to a client group. See the Client groups page.
  • Edit time slots: the channel's posting time template. See the Posting times page.
  • Bot picture and nickname: for platforms where our bot posts with its own name and picture, for example Discord.
  • Update Credentials: runs the connection again without you having to delete the channel.
  • Disable channel and Delete: see below.

Reconnecting

If a channel is disconnected, don't delete it and connect it again. Use Update Credentials in the menu. That keeps the same channel, so its posts, statistics, and slot templates remain.

Deleting and reconnecting is not the same

Connecting a deleted channel again creates a new channel. Statistics from the old posts no longer attach to it, and scheduled posts have to be selected again.

Disabling and deleting

  • Disable: the channel stays with all its data, but nothing goes out on it, and it doesn't count toward the plan's channel limit. You can turn it back on anytime. Use this when a client pauses work.
  • Delete: permanently removes the channel. If there are posts attached to it, we'll tell you, and you have to sort those out first.

Channel limit

Every plan has a maximum number of channels. The header on the Channels page shows how many you're using out of that limit.

If you switch to a smaller plan and that puts you over the limit, we disable the extra channels, we don't delete them. You can turn them back on by switching to a larger plan or by deleting another channel. The numbers per plan are on the Plans and limits page.

Status change notifications

You'll get a notification under the bell icon when a status changes. If you use a webhook, the same events also arrive in your own system: channel.disconnected, channel.refresh_needed, channel.disabled and channel.enabled. Details are on the Webhooks page.
